NEWS RELEASE

Irving, Texas —Vermeer Texas-Louisiana, the authorized dealer for Vermeer construction equipment in Texas and southern Louisiana, partnered with Higginbotham Insurance and through the Military Warriors Support Foundation, to donate a mortgage-free home to combat-wounded military veteran as part of the annual Charles Schwab Challenge at the Colonial Country Club held May 27, 2026.

This is the seventh consecutive year that Vermeer Texas-Louisiana has participated in this event where deserving military veterans are awarded a home and provided transition support as they separate from the military. This year’s recipient was former US Marine Corporal Jordan Whitehead, who will make his home in the great state of Texas.

The Fort Worth Colonial Charities, who leads the effort, also this year was able to arrange donation of a specially equipped vehicle to one veteran, along with an emotional support dog to another.

CEO Whit Perryman had this to say: “We know that freedom isn’t free and we thank Jordan and his fellow service members for their sacrifice. Our company is honored to be able to give back in this way to our deserving veterans.”
