AA Rental of Dallas, Texas is an independent general construction rental yard that has been helping customers with earth-moving, aerial platform and niche projects for more than 45 years. Recently, Paul Knowles, the operations manager, sat down and chatted with us about how Vermeer Texas-Louisiana has helped advance the company’s business objectives.
Fast, Friendly Service Forges a Long-Lasting Relationship in Dallas
AA Rental’s typical customers are large, commercial clients and small-to-medium sized contractors. During these uncertain times of COVID-19, Knowles has found that many commercial customers are scaling back; however, work for residential customers has increased. Overall, AA Rental is staying busy helping clients, and Knowles is personally busy while also trying to maintain staff to help manage the labor part of his operation. Because of his relationship with Cody Wells, sales representative at Vermeer Irving, Knowles doesn’t have to worry with equipment, parts or service freeing him up to focus on other challenges.
“I’ve been doing business with Vermeer (Texas-Louisiana) since 2015. Cody has been available any time I need him. He goes above and beyond in making sure we’re satisfied,” Knowles remarked.
AA Rental has used many other competitor’s equipment but has found success with the Vermeer brand as well as Yanmar compact excavation equipment. Knowles explained, “The (MV Solutions) McLaughlin VX30 is amazing! It saves us tons of time because we can use the valve to unblock hoses without having to disconnect them.”
AA Rental also owns a Vermeer BC1000XL brush chipper and several Yanmar excavators. “It’s nice having the control on there (BC1000XL) to tell you what the code is and where the problem is at,” Knowles said. “And the Yanmar saves us time because they rarely go down. We never really have to work on them,” he continued.
Knowles has his crew handle a lot of smaller routine maintenance. but he has taken advantage of the Vermeer Irving service department that employs Vermeer-certified technicians to handle warranty work through the Vermeer Confidence Plus program. Wells has also helped out by providing yearly inspections.
“Cody, Monte (Stucky, Vermeer Irving service admin) – everyone at Vermeer is so easy to deal with. Everybody is 100% professional,” Knowles closed. No matter what challenges customers face, Vermeer Texas-Louisiana is here to equip them to do more.
